PIN requested help from us to revive its operations and increase its services to meet the rising demands of the community, despite the challenges of obsolete technology and an outdated strategic plan. This case study delves into how PIN's partnership with us resulted in dramatic changes, strategic planning, and the nomination of a new board member with essential skills and leadership.

The Challenges:

PIN encountered various problems that hampered its capacity to properly satisfy the community’s expanding expectations and integrate its operations with the changing scenario.

  1. Outdated Strategic Plan: PIN’s present strategic plan was prepared before the pandemic and no longer connects with the organization’s current aims and problems.
  2. Limitations in Technology: The technology supporting PIN’s emergency and food insecurity programs must be updated, hampered efficient service delivery.
  3. Growing Community Needs: As the demand for PIN’s services grew, improving current programs and identifying critical unmet needs became necessary.

After receiving an email from the Greater Powell Chamber of Commerce, PIN’s new Executive Director contacted us for a complimentary introductory coaching session. Raymond joined the PIN Board of Directors and directed the company through a rigorous strategic planning process.

PIN identified unmet needs and priorities in collaboration with other community partners and agencies. This data was the foundation for creating a dynamic and relevant 5-year strategy plan focused on service design and enhancement.

Results Attained:

We had a crucial role in PIN’s transformation by giving direction, probing questions, questioning established practices, and assisting in shaping the organization’s vision for short- and long-term activities. PIN respected our skills and devotion to community involvement. What we did:

  1. Revitalized Strategic Planning: PIN’s out-of-date strategic plan was updated with a dynamic 5-year project that matched the organization’s mission, present difficulties, and community needs.
  2. Technological Upgrades:  PIN prioritized the modernization of its old systems, enabling more effective and simplified service delivery and recognizing the value of technology.
  3. Expanded Partnership: PIN’s partnership with other partners and agencies increased its ability to meet unmet community needs and created a forum for exchanging resources and information.
  4. Leadership Transformation: Raymond’s position as Board Chair provided PIN with vital knowledge and leadership, further enabling the organization to fulfil its aims and benefit the community.

The Growth Statement:

People in Need, Inc. overcame the problems of an outmoded strategic plan and technological restrictions by partnering with us. PIN effectively met the community’s rising demands via strategic planning, improved service delivery, and selected a visionary board member. This case study demonstrates the value of teamwork, foresight, and strategic planning in generating good change inside charitable organizations.
